About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover picture: Selective stretch imposed on 1 ß-integrins activates Cl and nonselective cation currents and inhibits K currents in ventricular myocytes. Anti-ß1 integrin mAb-coated paramagnetic beads were attached to myocytes. Beads were pulled upwards by an electromagnet that generated a force vector perpendicular to both the long axis of the myocyte and the membrane.See related article by Browe, D.M., and C.M. Baumgarten, pp. 689-702.
